So yes, Josh and I are saving for our wedding, which is now less than a year away – but no, we’re not sacrificing the holiday that we are both in desperate need for this summer.

It seems like a lifetime ago since Josh & I last had a proper holiday - when in reality it has actually only been two years since we visited Malta. From graduating from university, to getting my first full time job & my own home to look after, as well as getting engaged and planning a wedding, things just got a little hectic, which is why I think it’s so important to take a small step back & take a break. We’re so lucky to have been able to get away to Santorini last week, but any break from planning the wedding, and taking a little time for yourselves is so important.

Anyone who knows me knows that I suffer from extreme tiredness, that I’m a stress-head, and worry about absolutely everything, and everyone as it happens, so for me I would rather make a slight cutback for the wedding, and just get away from it allThis being said, it's not just wedding planning that taking a break applies to - it's everyday life. Our daily lives seem to run at a hundred miles per hour (like how is it even July already??), and everyday pressures - from performing to our full ability at work, committing our evenings to working out in the gym, to our constant want to make our lives seem a thousand times better than they actually are by making that avocado & quinoa salad that would just look great for our Instagram feeds - just take over, and we can lose sight of what is really important. Ourselves. And the world around us

No one can really explain how stressful planning a wedding can actually be, and although we have around 20 months to prepare for ours, the most stressful thing is figuring out how you’re going to please everyone, family and friends, whilst on a budget, rather than the actual booking of the venue, entertainer etc., and of course, finding that dream dress. So take a break, get away for the weekend, the night - whatever. Just spend time together, and don't lose sight of the value and importance of why you are getting married.

These little collection of photos were taken at the beautiful Amoudi Bay, Oia - Santorini. If you're looking for fresh seafood, with a view, then Taverna Katina is the place to visit - it's just a case of climbing down/up two hundred or so steps. Set right on the water's edge, Amoudi Bay is the perfect location to enjoy a little tranquil peace from the crowds of Oia, so make sure you head down for a touch of dinner whilst staying in Santorini.
