There are some serious romantic destinations right on our doorstep...yes that's right - Europe! You've been so busy saving for and planning your wedding, you definitely need a break, and a little time away together after you've tied the knot! While everyone thinks that the most luxury of honeymoons are found further afield, there are plenty of options right here in Europe. So, I've composed a list of my favourite European honeymoon destinations.
1. Santorini, Greece
Santorini offers newly-weds breathtaking scenery, picturesque buildings and blue skies & sea.
What to do: Santorini's volcanic activity plays a part in activities on the island - head to Kamari Breach or Amoudi bay - completely unique beaches due to the volcanic activity. Why not hire jet skis for some extra fun? There are various historical sites and museums to visit, alongside the beautiful town of Oia.
2. Venice, Italy
Venice is a magical and enchanting place. You can take a romantic ride on a gondola, through the city's many waterways (and gondola drivers have been known to sing romantic songs in the moment - yes, that's a movie moment right there). If you wanted to take the romantic city by foot, narrow passageways twist throughout the city, creating a perfect novel moment.
Things to do: visit the basilica and take a tour on the grand canal.
3. Paris, France
Of course Paris had to make the list - it's on of the most romantic places on earth, right? Paris is full of luxurious hotels, and spas - but if you're not sold on it as a honeymoon destination, why not go there as a stop off on the way to somewhere else.
Things to do: visit the Eiffel Tower, Notre Dame & Louvre Museum - you won't be disappointed.
4. Sicily, Italy
Looking for something a little more beachy? Sicily is the perfect option for that luxury, hot, romantic getaway, surrounded by warm, Mediterranean seas. You'll experience delicious wine, seafood & pasta whilst on your honeymoon here.
Things to do: make sure you visit Mount Etna
5. Tuscany, Italy
Wine lovers? Then Tuscany is the place for you. Set in the Italian countryside, Tuscany is place for couples to escape the mayhem of city life, and enjoy some quality time away from everything.
Things to do: visit Florence and Siena whilst you're there, and drink plenty of wine of course.
